Join IWOC-ers as IWOC board members and freelance writers George Becht and Diane Schneidman moderate a panel discussion on how to break into the field of writing white papers, case studies and other forms of technical writing.

Highlights of their presentation will include:

  • The true definitions of a white paper, case studies and technical writing;
  • The reasons potential client companies produce case studies, white papers and technical writing;
  • The manner in which case studies, white papers and technical communication are used;
  • The type of companies, nonprofits, government agencies, churches or other types of organizations that need white papers, case studies and technical communication;
  • The methods in which freelance writers should employ to obtain assignments in writing white papers, case studies and technical communication; to write white papers, case studies and technical communication and how much they should charge, and;
  • The resources most helpful towards achieving this goal.

Networking, with snacks and beverages, begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by the program at 6:00 p.m.

The meeting is free for IWOC members. Non-members pay $10 with online preregistration/payment or $15 at the door.

All attendees are welcome to join us for a buy-your-own dinner at a nearby restaurant after the meeting.

Meeting Location

IWOC monthly meetings are held in Room 4F at the Gratz Center, 126 E. Chestnut Street, adjacent to the historic Fourth Presbyterian Church (see map, below).

Discounted parking after 5:00pm is available (with validation coupon available at the meeting) at 900 N. Michigan Avenue.
