Hyper-local: Money, Truth and Future—Really?

With the high-profile fallout over Journatic and lay-offs at TribLocal, is hyper-local really the answer? Who's doing it wrong, who's doing it right? Are there any jobs in this?

Listen to, and interact with, a panel of industry experts to examine the myths, the promise and the financial future of local reporting. The panel includes Andrew Huff, editor/publisher, Gapers Block; Kyle Leonard, editor, Chicago Tribune; Sherry Skalko, editorial director, Central Zone, Patch; Bill Smith, publisher, Evanston Now; and AWJ member Elaine Coorens, editor/publisher, Our Urban Times, and program moderator.

The program will be held at Columbia College, 1st Floor, Room ACC 101.

AWJ members and Columbia College faculty and students are admitted free. Admission for all others is $10.

To register for the event, visit the AWJ website.
