Independent Writers of Chicago
IWOC Meeting
Nike Whitcomb, Executive Director American Writers Museum
Our main speaker at this meeting will be Nike Whitcomb, the new executive director of the American Writers Museum. The mission of the museum, which is to be located in Chicago, will be to serve as the first national museum in the United States dedicated to engaging the public in celebrating American writers and exploring their influence on our history, our identity, our culture and our daily lives.
Through innovative and dynamic state-of-the-art exhibitions and compelling programming, the American Writers Museum intends to educate, enrich, provoke, and inspire the public with respect to American writers and writing.
To complement Ms. Whitcomb's presentation, we will also be joined by professor and poet Reginald Gibbons, who serves as director of the Northwestern University Center for the Writing Arts.
Join us for this wonderful program!
Networking, with snacks and beverages, begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by the program at 6:00 p.m.
